In Spain, the strawberry season runs in the months of February and May and although some years, we also have them in January and June. Around this dates, it is a good time to prepare a strawberry jam at home. It is grandmother’s recipe, the classic jam that is served to accompany bread or toast at breakfast.



  • ½ kilo of strawberries
  • 250 ml water
  • 200 gr brown sugar
  • Cinnamon and clove




In a saucepan, we put together water, strawberries, sugar and cinnamon and cloves. Let it boil for half an hour, until it becomes a jam. Let cool and remove cinnamon and cloves.



Pour in a glass container.
